Experience
My biggest passion in life for the past 10 years has been learning and teaching chemistry. I enjoy looking at the everyday world at the molecular level and love showing others how to adapt this kind of thinking. I completed a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from Stony Brook University in 2013 with magna cum laude. By December of 2014 I had also completed a Master of Arts in Teaching Chemistry through Binghamton University. I have 8+ years of diverse experience tutoring chemistry students of all ages & skill levels - from high school peers to adult learners at university . I also had the opportunity to student teach in upstate New York for four months, preparing high school students for their NYS Chemistry Regents exam and introducing 8th graders to the world of physical science. Currently, I work as a professional analytical chemist for a multinational cosmetics company on Long Island. Having this practical experience in the field allows me to always be able to explain the "so what & who cares" aspects of learning chemistry. My style of tutoring involves teaching go-to problem solving strategies and providing analogies to everyday experiences, to make chemistry as accessible as possible.
