I am strong academically in music, social sciences, and science. I can also help with test preparation for the PSAT, SAT, and advanced placement tests. My yearning to be a teacher stems from how much I enjoyed primary and secondary school. I want to pass on my experiences and joy of learning to my students. Though sometimes tests can be difficult and students may internalize failure, I believe that with a little confidence, any student can overcome challenges and master any subject. My teaching style is a mix of humor, brevity, and patience. It is a joy to see students become excited, interact with the material, and take pride in their progress. I have done behavioral research on chimpanzees and now work with skeletal archives at the American Museum of Natural History. I have served as a camp counselor at the Central Park Zoo, as well as a peer mentor for college students in introductory biology. I have even taught dance (tap)! I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Biology from Wesleyan University, which I received in spring 2015. My hobbies include a wide array of reading materials, from fiction novels to science publications, watching Disney films, playing the ukulele, music, and theater.
